Kerri's French course in Montpellier

23rd November 2008:

Salut mes amis.!

Something hit me this morning… I have only 3 weeks left here until returning home for Christmas.! I can’t believe how much time has flown past. Its amazing how the weeks seem to be over even before they’ve begun and the weekends seem like you have all the time in the world, I’ve never had it like this before.

So for an update on the last 2 months or so… I actually did the ‘intensif’ course at school for 4 weeks last month which is 10 extra hours of class a week. I thought it was fantastic, the main focus is to get you talking, I had so much fun.! We played games and everyone from my class got on so well. It improved my pronunciation in leaps and bounds.

I also spent a weekend in Barcelona a couple of weeks ago with my friends from the residence. It was amazing.! It’s true we did spend much of the trip chatting French to the much-puzzled Spaniards but our two Columbian friends did a fantastic job of teaching us an odd word or two to use while we were there. We saw much of Gaudi’s work, sat and enjoyed an ice cream in the park (yess that’s right it was lovely weather… In the middle of November.! :D), enjoyed a afternoon of shopping, ate tapas, tapas and more tapas and of course appreciated the sangria in the clubs on an evening.

So.! What else is new.? Well over the last couple of months it’s been 4 peoples birthdays in the residence so it’s been so fun making lots of different parties for them. We had a fancy-dress party, a Swedish party hosted by the Swedes with Swedish food and drinks (found in IKIA), music and dancing, certainly one of the most amusing things that happened, and my all time favourite… The candy party organised by the one and only for my best friends 19th.

So 3 weeks, too much left to do and too little time. Next weekend my friend and me are visiting Milan to stay with her exchange parents from last year and a Dutch party has been organised for the 5th of December with Secret Santa where we’re all going near Avignon to one of the Dutch guys parents holiday home.

Well that’s all for now =)
À bientôt.

Oh and PS. My new love… Monaco… Beer with Grenadine at only €2.90 you can’t go wrong.!
