French Languages for Life/DELF Preparation 
10 to 36 weeks French language course duration

These long term courses allow students to focus on all aspects of the French language in historic Aix-en-Provence over several months (ideally 3, 6 or 9 months but can be flexible). It generally attracts European and Asian students aged 19yrs/25yrs of age (but all ages, 18yrs+ are welcome).
In-depth study over an extended period ensures better mastery, subtler understanding and far greater long term retention of key language skills. They are very popular with Gap Year students prior to University, graduates and adults looking to take a career break. The programme focuses on the curriculum needed for the DELF exam preparation, or to sit the TCF exam. Link through for full details regarding French course structure and methodology. Students also participate in outdoor activities and workshops, which are regularly planned. Each group works on a specific French project leading to a set goal, i.e. an exhibition, a CD, a web page or a written document.

Ideal for all ability levels looking for a course of 2 to 10 weeks duration. Aimed at adults who want to develop general French language skills in Aix, in either a personal or professional context.  The focus is on developing communication skills, oral skills most importantly (but written skills as well) to ensure that each student faces every type of communication with greater ease and confidence as the French programme progresses. Intensive French Course

French language students follow and build on the Standard French course (see methodology), following afternoon workshops (of two or three lessons a day, over 4 or 5 days) that focus on various topics related to France; French civilization, everyday life in France (work conditions, educational system, customs, family life) and outdoor exercises and visits, French theatre and music workshops, phonetics, writing games, study of the different registers of the French language, multimedia workshops etc to broaden your knowledge and to place the language in a cultural context.

Short term French language courses aimed at those who need to build on current skills or who want to kick start their French language learning with a Standard Course in Aix-en-Provence, France, with additional private tuition. Private classes can be personally tailored to encourage rapid linguistic development.

Discover the joys of French wine whilst also improving your French. Students follow the morning Standard Programme (see French methodology) and in the afternoons lessons in Aix are tailored towards Oenology. The course includes visits to local wine producers, vocabulary and interpretation (colour, nose, taste..), The French Appellation system (explanations and classifications) how best to combine wine and food, and some fabulous wine tasting sessions.

French Plus Horse Riding Programme

Students follow the morning Standard Programme (see methodology) and for five afternoons (over 2 weeks)enjoy horse riding sessions with the Aix-Marseille Riding Club.  Lessons can be arranged privately or as part of a group, depending on student interest.  Riders can choose to improve one or several riding disciplines depending on personal interest.

French Plus Painting Programme

Students follow the morning Standard French course in Aix (see methodology) and over several afternoons follow painting classes run by a professional painter, who specialises in Impressionist work. Classes include instruction on how to work with oils and charcoal drawings, in the painter's studio.  All Art lessons are held in French and students will work in small groups, either in the Artist's garden/workshop or out in the open (weather permitting). 

French Plus Golf Programme

Students follow the morning Standard Programme in Aix-en-Provence (see methodology) and can book golf course packages for the afternoons and at the weekend, according to their golfing level and interest.

French Plus Provence Programme

Students follow the morning Standard Course in Aix-en-Provence (see methodology) and a range of afternoon activities and one Saturday excursion designed to allow students to discover the natural and cultural heritage of the Provencal region.

French Plus Cookery Programme

Students follow the morning Standard Programme and in the afternoon enjoy cookery workshops, discovering Provencal gastronomy and local products. Students also try local wines and learn food/wine related vocabulary.

French Plus Hiking Course

Students follow the morning Standard Programme (see methodology) and escape the classroom and enjoy hiking through Provence with a professional guide.  You have to love walking and be in possession of suitable hiking boots to get the most from this course! 

French Plus Sailing Course

Students follow the morning Standard Programme (see methodology) and for 20 hrs over 2 wks (some afternoons and one full day of sailing at the weekend) enjoy sailing a 10m yacht in and around the bay of Marseilles.  Students on the sailing programme sail under the professional supervision of the Ecole de Voile in Marseille (affiliated to the FFV).  This course is appropriate to those with prior sailing experience and those with no prior experience of sailing.

Business French Course

A two week language course aimed exclusively at business professionals who deal direct with French speaking colleagues. The course aims to provide students with the tools and confidence needed to exchange ideas and negotiate with French native speakers. This French course is designed for executives or senior managers from different fields and horizons who in their work are in direct contact with French speaking people. It is structured and personalized according to the common needs of the participants. The Institute gives a priority to the constitution of intercultural groups which encourages the use of French as the common language.

  Course content :
Personalised teaching based on the oral expression.
