A thorough and intensive French language course aimed at anyone who wishes to learn French in Nice, or improve on their current French language skills. The morning classes follow the same format as the Standard Course, described above and the additional 10 lessons are held over three afternoons devoted to the practical application of your French knowledge, an approach to cultural, social political and economic life in France. According to your French language level, your class will focus on : opinion polls, debates, literature, history, theatre, music... these additional small group classes really aid linguistic development and self confidence.

French Executive Mini Group Course

A demanding, one week, intensive French language course in Nice aimed at those who need good French skills for the business environment (management, skilled workers, engineers). Equipment used during the course: video / phone / multimedia projector / computers / Internet.
Students MUST already have an active conversational ability (to B1 level on the CEF language ability scale). Such small group work really aids progress and develops confidence with like minded peers.

French DELF Exam Course
4 weeks French language course duration

These four week DELF preparation courses lead up to the DELF exams. Students have to complete a short written test prior to acceptance on the course. Tuition is organised according to the exam requirements. This means the French language course concentrates on the main aspects of French language: grammar, vocabulary, standard of written and oral expression, knowledge of French culture and civilisation.
If your current language level is already the one you of your requested diploma, you can enrol directly for the 4 week preparation course. If your current level is just under the one of the requested diploma, you will have to do a 4 week Standard Course prior to your DELF Preparation Course.  CESA can send you the French School Test to help you determine your level.
NOTE : Three of the French school staff are members of the DELF jury, so the school is well placed to ensure all French language students achieve their DELF exam goals.

French A'level Easter Course
1 week French language course duration - Easter holidays

A special ONE week Easter course solely for CESA students, currently working towards their AS or A2 exams in the UK. Highly recommended by past students. Tailored small group work really aids linguistic progress and develops student confidence.

French Summer (A level) Course 
1 or 2 weeks French language course duration
Open to 16yrs+ age group July/August
Ideal for Yr 11 and Yr 12 students
30 French group lessons
Max. 10 people per group class  
Timetable: Mon/Fri : 9.00 - 10.40  /  11.00 - 12.20 +  3 afternoons 13.15 – 15.45
Classes are held on the summer school site in Cimiez, Nice. The language course is open to A'level students and those following European equivalent exams. This French programme covers the range of linguistic skills required by exam students of this level. The final day of the course is set aside for a mock exam, in test conditions. It is designed for high school students who want to improve their French in Nice, with a view to exams, which marks the end of their school education.
Morning lessons are devoted to grammatical and functional aims according to the programme of the French Standard Course.
Afternoon lessons are reserved for résumé techniques and text analysis. This is also part of the next day's work to be corrected and analysed by the teacher.
1 to 2 hours per day after lessons for preparation or exercises.
All text material used in lessons deals with French literature and civilisation.

An extremely intensive French language course, ideal for those who wish to make maximum French language progress over a one or two week period. Aimed at business people or those who need to work on their French for academic or professional reasons, for whom time is of the essence.

French Summer Sailing Course PM
2 weeks French language course duration

Sailing lessons with a local Sailing Club/fortnight
offered as a supplementary course to the French group course
French Standard course + 10 sessions of Catamaran sailing over 2 weeks

Every afternoon, from 2pm onwards, from Monday to Friday and for two weeks, you will be taught how to sail (10 sessions of around 3 hours each). You will learn on a catamaran, with monitors that are certified by the French Sailing Federation. After a few theory sessions, you will soon be out on one of the most stunning seas in the world: the Mediterranean. The team supervising the students is made up of monitors who have experience in teaching people from all different nationalities. As much as possible, the sessions will be carried out in French.
Students must bring a medical certificate as proof of general good health and those Under 18 yrs must have Permission forms from their parents.

French Summer Diving Course PM
2 weeks French language course duration
Open to 16yrs+ age group in June/September
10 Diving lessons with a local Diving Club in a fortnight
offered as a supplementary course to the French group course
French Standard course + 10 diving sessions over 2 weeks,
leading up the PADI 1st level qualification

Every diving session (starting 2pm Mon/Fri) is preceded by a briefing and all dives are rigorously monitored. You will be taken by boat to the dive, supervised by certified monitors (PADI Gold Palm). 9 lessons are devoted to teaching and practice and exploration. 2 lessons of 45 minutes each are devoted exclusively to theory. At the end of this course, you will be awarded the PADI 1st level. If you wish to do this exam, you will have to pay an extra fee of 40 € directly to the Diving club. A blend of sport, relaxation, and solidarity whilst learning a language, this course is certainly a wonderful experience.
Students must bring a medical certificate as proof of general good health and those Under 18 yrs must have permission forms from their parents.

French and Culture course
20 language lessons per week
+ a detailed cultural programme to help you understand the French way of life and discover the cultural context for the French language.
5 to 8 students per class, maximum : 10 student per class
Level required : A2 ability (see language level descriptions on line or discuss with CESA)

Afternoon workshops:
One cookery session with a real Chef, a chance to analyse modern day French cinema, an exploration of French "Chanson" from the 1960s to 2010, a guided visit to the Matisse museum, a Painting lesson in a Cimiez monastery garden, an afternoon excursion to the historic village of Eze and a guided visit of the famous Fragonard perfume factory, exploration of French humour (sketches, comics and all the things that make the French laugh), enjoy a workshop devoted to French fashion (Hermes, Dior, Chanel and Lacroix), the importance of etiquette, how to eat and behave correctly according to French custom plus an evening programme including a quiz on culture and a wine and cheese tasting session!
