French Languages for Life Courses

A long term French language course option, ideal for University students, graduates or any adult student looking to study French in Rouen, in-depth over two or more months for maximum impact and progress. These longer duration general French courses are aimed at anyone who wishes to build on their current French skills or who wants to learn French from beginner level, in Rouen. They are the same format as the Standard Course, but the longer duration ensures far greater progress and more opportunity to put your French into practise, developing linguistic confidence and proficency to a higher level, than a short term course can offer.  Classes are based on communicative French and structural progression in mornings. Lessons are timetabled: 09.30am to 13.00hrs, including a 30 minute break from 11h-11h30. The French school in Rouen offers 6 different language level groups from beginners to advanced ability and courses start every Monday. On the first day there is an evaluation and needs analysis session in the morning and on the first afternoon they offer a free orientation session for new students, introducing them to Rouen. Standard French Course

A short term general French language course aimed at anyone who wishes to build on their current French skills or who wants to learn French from beginner level, in Rouen. Classes are based on communicative French and structural progression in mornings. Lessons are timetabled: 09.30am to 13.00hrs, including a 30 minute break from 11h-11h30. The French school in Rouen offers 6 different language level groups from beginners to advanced ability and courses start every Monday. On the first day there is an evaluation and needs analysis session in the morning if you have not already completed an on line test, followed by the first lessons of the week, plus on that first afternoon they offer a free orientation session for new students, introducing them to Rouen. For further information please review French course methodology. Students normally follow a programme for 2 weeks or longer, but one week courses are also possible.

Intensive French Course

Levels: Open to all levels 
Morning lessons follow the same format as the Standard Courses, based on practising and developing communicative French and structural progression. This is the most popular group course option in Rouen, as it makes best use of your time in France to ensure maximum progress over several weeks of French study.
Class times are 9.30am to 1.00pm, including a 30 minute recess from 11h-11h30. While in the afternoons additional workshops are offered in the French school in Rouen, between 2.00pm to 4.00pm, covering a different daily topic:
Monday : Vocabulary and reading
Tuesday : Written comprehension and writing skills
Wednesday : Listening skills and French life and culture
Thursday : DELF DALF preparation or Listening & speaking practise 
Friday : Speaking skills practise  

French Mini Group Business Course 
1 to 4 weeks French language course duration
Open to 18yrs+ age group 
30 French group lessons
Max. 4 people per group class  
Levels : Ideal for A2 level or above
Short term, intensive French language courses aimed at those who need good French skills for business reasons, but cannot dedicate long to their studies in Rouen. Such small group work really aids progress and develops confidence with like minded peers. Please note: Private lessons will be provided instead of the mini group course, if it is not possible to offer a group at a particular language level.

French DELF Exam Course
4 weeks+ French language course duration
Open to 16yrs+ age group on set start dates 
As the Intensive Course plus a supplementary programme
of (8 lessons over 4 weeks) French group lessons
Max. 10 people per PM group classes
Levels: A2 and above
These four week+ DELF preparation lessons help students prepare specifically for the DELF / DALF exams. Students have to complete a short written test prior to acceptance on the course. You will study all four language skills, (reading, writing listening and speaking) and the French school's friendly and experienced staff will do all they can to ensure that you reach your goal as quickly as possible. The course includes a final mock examination so that you know what to expect on the day and take the examination fully prepared. DELF exam fees are not included in the course fees.

Combined French Course
1 to 8+ weeks French language course duration

PLUS a further 05 or 15 French private tuition lessons per week
Max. 10 people per group class
Short term French language courses aimed at those who need to build on current skills or who want to kick start their French language learning with a course in Rouen, with additional private tuition (see French course methodology). Private classes can be personally tailored to encourage rapid linguistic development.

French Private Tuition Courses
1 week+ French language course duration
Open to 16yrs+ age group throughout the year
15 or 30 French private lessons per week
An extremely intensive French language course, ideal for those who wish to make maximum French language progress in Rouen, over a one or two week period. Aimed at business people or those students who need to work on their French for academic or professional reasons, (see French course methodology) for whom time is of the essence.

Gourmet French 
1 week French language course duration
Open to 16yrs+ age group (Spring & Autumn dates)
15 French group lessons plus
3 excursions (always culinary related) & 3 gourmet meals in the week
Max. 15 people per group 
Normandy is famous for its rich cuisine and well known cheeses. The course combines French classes in the morning, with interesting regional afternoon visits to local producers of specialities, such as:
Camembert - a soft, creamy, surface-ripened cow's milk cheese, first made in the late 18th century in Normandy
Calvados - a famous apple brandy associated with the French région of Basse-Normandie
Benedictine - a herbal liqueur developed by Alexandre Le Grand in the 19th century and originally claimed to be made by the Benedictine Abbey of Fécamp in Normandy
plus 3 gourmet evening meals at renowned restaurants.

French & Cookery
1 week French language course duration
Open to 16yrs+ age group (Spring & Autumn)
3 morning cookery sessions in Culinary school
plus French group lessons in PM (Mon/Friday) 
Max. 15 people per class
This course is a must for those keen to combine language learning with some fun cookery lessons, and with its strong culinary heritage, Normandy is the ideal place to do this! The Culinary School offers expert culinary sessions where students get to practice different elements of a meal over the week. On Tuesday preparing a starter, on Wednesday a main course and on Thursday a dessert with expert cooks and a French tutor to guide you - and encouarge you to speak French each morning!  Then each afternoon (Monday to Friday) join a French group course at the French language school in Rouen.  All course materials for the programme and all ingredients for the cookery element are included in the course cost and the programme ends with a farewell dinner (also inclusive in course cost).  This programme particularly appeals to our adult students (30's to 50's age group) but anyone with a desire to learn a little more about French and French cookery is most welcome. 

Discover Normandy

guided visit to Rouen Museum, Cookery and other activities in the week

A wonderful combination of French tuition, French culture and cuisine appreciation and a chance to get a real feel for Rouen and the Normandy region through the art, food and traditions associated with this part of France.  This programme is really appreciated by older students (35yrs plus) but is open to anyone interested in the culture of the region.
