Social Activities in Milan

All students are encouraged to make the most of their time in Milan by participating in the guided excursions and activities offered by the college.

Milan and its surrounding area offer a nearly unlimited variety of leisure activities, which our students might undertake by themselves. We offer leisure activities as well and organised on a regular basis.

Every month the school distributes a calendar of cultural activities. In this way participants will always be well informed concerning exhibitions, concerts, films and other events.

Here are just a few examples of the activities organised by the college: Day excursions Lago Maggiore, Monza and Pavia. Soccer games, if enough students are interested there may be tickets to watch either AC Milan or Inter Milan play at the San Siro Stadium. Art history tours to see some of Leonardo da Vinci`s work in the Castello Sforesco. Dinners with the school in a typical Milanese restaurant and much more.

A sample of a Week’s cultural programme:
Monday: Welcome Party for new students (every 2 weeks)
Tuesday: Soccer match
Wednesday: Aperitive night on the Navigli
Thursday: Free lesson “Conoscere Milano”
Friday: Disco night, free for the school`s students
Saturday: Guided Tour to Pavia or Bergamo
Sunday: Inter or AC Milan match at S.Siro stadium (Sept to May)

Activities outside of college:
Milan is extremely rich in art collections and has a good selection of tourist sights to keep you busy. Milan’s tourist highlights begin with the magnificent gleaming white Duomo. The immense gothic cathedral took over 500 years to complete, and a trip up to the roof is an unmissable experience. You can sunbathe amongst the marble pinnacles and enjoy a view as far as the Alps.

Next to the Piazza del Duomo is the famous Gallera Vittorio Emanuele. This is an elegant nineteenth century glass covered shopping centre. Milan is also rich in art galleries; some of the best include Pinacoteco Ambrosiana and Pinacoteca di Brera.

You must go and see Leonardo Da Vinci`s famous Last Supper in the Santa Maria della Grazie. Depending on your interests you may want to pay a visit to the most famous opera house in the world, La Scala. There are regular showings of operas and ballets such as Madame Butterfly and Swan Lake.

Maybe you fancy watching a football match at the San Siro Stadium home to both AC Milan and Inter Milan.  For a pleasant evening stroll the Brera area is one of the nicest places to wander, dropping into enticing bars and restaurants along the way.
