About Alicante
Learning Spanish in Alicante enables students to study on either short term group or private language courses or long term group programmes, with start dates every month throughout the year. Alicante, pearl of the Mediterranean, is home to 300,000 inhabitants; it offers a wealth of bars, cafes, taverns, cervecerias, pizza patios each with its own style and personality. Alicante enjoys a wonderful climate, around 16 oC in the winter rising to around 32 oC in the summer.
The “Modern” zone (between Alfonson El Sabio and the Explanada) offers elegant pubs, restaurants, nightclubs and dance salons. Alicante boasts some splendid beaches such as the famous El Postiguet and the Playa de San Juan; students can also enjoy relaxing walks along the Explanada just next to the Alicante harbour.
With many historical building around the city, Alicante offers countless sightseeing attractions, from the Cathedrals to Churches and of course the wonderful view from the harbour.
Only 22 km from Alicante is the largest Palm forest in Europe and is well worth a visit. Alicante is renowned for its traditional fiestas such as the San Juan Festivities or the “Moors and Christian” celebrations, a revival of the “Reconquista” battles. Alicante provides an exciting and entertaining location to study a language course for adults of all ages.
