About Vejer
Vejer, home to 13,000 inhabitants, is a small, perfectly conserved, historic town surrounded by beautiful countryside in the south of Spain. It is located 110 miles south west of Seville and can be easily reached by car or bus in approximately 1.5 hours.
The zigzagging streets, the whitewashed houses and the balconies filled with flowers also hide Internet cafes, hotels, guesthouses, shops, restaurants, galleries and side-walk cafes. In some places you can still see the fortress walls that were carefully constructed in the 11th century.

Fifteen minutes away by car or bus on the Atlantic coast are some spectacular beaches. El Palmar, which is within the municipality of Vejer, has remained undeveloped thanks to the strict limits on building and outside of the busiest summer months is normally free from crowds. There are bars and restaurants, discos and shops and the cove is ideal for windsurfing. Barbate, to the south, has a fishing port, a marina, and a long sandy beach in the town itself and a wilder beach at the edge of the pine forest just outside.
