Phoebe's French course in Cannes

Bonjour!

I have been so busy the past few weeks that i don't think i've had a single moment to myself in the past three weeks and i'm dreading coming home! The grammar lessons are so helpful, learning the fundamental basics of the language makes everything more accessible so that now with the basics I can now converse more fluently with people and completely in French.

The course has really opened up and explored cultural aspects of French - on friday we spent some time exploring french humour and translating jokes into French - which is the common language during lessons.

In my lessons there is a vast mixture of nationalities with the Brit, the Canadian, the American, the Norweigan, the Swede and finally the Australians and we all get along really well! The lessons are now very tailored to our group and if there's something someone struggles with Katia is always willing to give lots of help. Which is reassuring as sometimes the French can be so overwhelming!

We've had several tests...
all of which I've done well on, and they reinforce things learnt in class and we have about an hour of homework a night with a mixture of oral presentations, grammar sheets and vocabulary sheets and we are now beginning to write extended pieces of writing which feels so rewarding as every time i write there are fewer mistakes! A sign that my French is most certainly improving.
